Diversity on Campus

By Brian Grimmer Diversity among society is a beautiful thing. In the world of academia, various identities, abilities, cultures, styles, opinions, and beliefs are successfully pooled together using respect and the desire to learn as the glue that holds it all together. This social expectation is part of life at Shoreline Community College as well.  Like any other campus, there are plenty of opportunities to network and make friends outside of the traditional social circles. For myself, as a veteran and returning student, I find this mindset of inclusiveness both fascinating and supportive of the ideals taught in academia. I am fascinated by the idealism, creativity, and opportunities provided by the various groups present on campus. I fully support the many expressions of diversity I've seen on campus as well as the right to express one's views peacefully and respectfully.
